The Akkadian Empire

The Akkadian Empire rose on 2300 BC and lasted until 2100BC. Sargon the Great was the most successful leader of the Akkadian Empire. They lived near the northern part of Mesopotamia. Thier government was made up of city-states. All the Akkadian cities thought they could form alliances, for protection of the people and many advantages.
Sargon hated the Sumeranians, and so one day the city of Uruk tried to attack the Akkadians. Sargon fought back and gained power. The Akkadians went at war with the Sumerians and succeeded. They carried on expanding for many years until 2100BC they were defeated by the Amorites.
