The Persian Empire was lead by King Cyrus. King Cyrus wanted a lot of land so he fought for it, and defeated the Median Empire in 550BC. He wanted to expand more and more so he attacked the Lydians and Babylonians. After all these defeats the Persians land covered 3,000 miles from east to west passing through Mesopotamia, Egypt, Israel and Turkey! They used the tax method and had no Code of Laws either, many other empires did though.

The empire even had a war with the Greeks! In 334BC the Persian Empire was defeated by Alexander the Great.
